Today I have the privilege to write a product review on Lilly Bean’s Gluten-Free Birthday Cupcake Kit. Above all, I am glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this kit, primarily in taste, flavor, and texture of the cupcakes. But I won’t get ahead of myself. I’ll discuss each aspect of this kit in short detail so you can make an informed decision on this brand of gluten-free, dairy-free baking mixes.

This kit is comprehensive; it comes with the cupcake mix, the buttercream icing dry ingredients mix, an icing bag, a piping tip, a birthday candle, cupcake liners, and sprinkles. The instructions for making & baking the cupcakes, making the icing, and decorating the cupcakes is thorough yet brief. This kit is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, artificial dye-free, and vegan. All you need to bake the cupcakes and make the icing is dairy-free milk (I use soy milk for baking) and dairy-free butter (I recommend the dairy-free butter sticks, not the dairy-free spread in a tub).

Simply combine the cupcake mix with the dairy-free milk and butter and bake according to instructions. I recommend filling each cupcake liner about 1/3 full. Allow to cool completely before icing.

Beat the icing mix with the dairy-free milk and butter and beat until smooth. This buttercream icing is light and tasty! This amount will allow you to create as much icing on each cupcake as there is cake!

After beating the icing until smooth and getting the piping tip into the piping bag, I recommend folding over the edges of the piping bag a couple of inches and place into a tall cup to hold it upright while you transfer the icing into the bag.

Finally, add the sprinkles! This gluten-free cupcake kit is delightful and is easy enough for even the youngest, newest, or most inexperienced baker. I recommend this kit 100% and have no reservations. There is nothing I would improve upon.
