Hello! I’m Michal, the author, recipe-developer, and product-tester behind The Wrote Oat. 

After many, many years of digestive problems, organ damage, and abnormal blood labs with no explanation, I was finally diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Celiac in 2022. I continued to have gastric issues and after further testing was found to be allergic to casein, one of two proteins found in all mammal milk. 

The only known treatment for Celiac Disease is life-long, strict adherence to a gluten-free diet. After months of research and reading every book, news report, and science article I could find, I came to an understanding of what I needed to do to control my new autoimmune disease, help my body to heal, and find a new way of living.

But I found that the people around me (and many online) who adhered to a gluten-free diet were often discouraged with the food they had to eat and often didn’t follow a strict gluten-free diet because they were unsatisfied with the texture, flavor, and taste of gluten-free foods. I started to share my recipes and foods with my coworkers and friends and decided to make a website to share even more. All my recipes are gluten- and dairy-free and I hope to make a positive influence in your diet and lifestyle by teaching you that your food can be delicious, nutritious, and you may even find my recipes turn out with no discernable difference to gluten-containing foods!
