Product Review: Daiya Gluten & Dairy Free Supreme Pizza

2 min reading time

Hello and happy Thursday! Welcome to another gluten & dairy free product review.

Today’s highlight is Daiya’s gluten and dairy free supreme plant-based thin crust pizza. I bought this at Walmart; Daiya products are sold in most large-chain grocery stores, so you should be able to find this at a grocery store near by.

For this pizza being gluten-free, the crust was actually very good. It held together, didn’t fall apart, break, or tear, and the flavor and texture was among the best gluten-free pizza crusts I’ve ever had.

The supreme plant-based toppings included meatless Italian sausage style crumbles (very tasty and not far off in flavor and texture from the original item), mushrooms, and bell peppers. I topped mine with some bacon bits before baking and it all turned out wonderfully.

The dairy-free mozzarella cheese was melty and the taste was surprisingly good. Daiya is among my favorites for dairy-free cheese options and I often buy a couple of their products every week or so (my favorite is their dairy-free strawberry cream cheese; perfect on toast!). That’s why I was eager to try their gluten and dairy free pizza; because their cheese is so surprisingly good!

While the oven was preheating, I also placed my large cast iron skillet to preheat as well, to ensure the pizza baked evenly and there was no soggy crust.

The pizza is small, so it will probably be about 2 servings, depending on how large a serving size is for you. I had half a pizza left over and re-heated it the next day in the oven at 350*F for about 10 minutes and it turned out great.

But, as usual, this is best day-of for flavor, texture, and consistency. Overall, I recommend this brand for gluten and dairy free pizza options. It is difficult to find products like this that have good flavor and texture and when you find something amazing, you have to share!

Daiya has other pizzas available in the freezer section: vegan cheese lover’s, vegan meatless meat lover’s, and vegan fire roasted vegetable. Daiya also makes gluten-free macaroni and dairy-free cheese; stay tuned for a product review!

I hope this product review has been helpful for you and will assist in decision-making during grocery shopping.
